On Sunday, February 9 at about 10:00 pm, Chris
Trickle was on his way to play tennis when he was shot in the head. He lost
control of his car and went off the road. There is no evidence as to whether
or not it was a random shooting. Police are still looking for anyone who
has any information.
With the bullet lodged in his brain, Chris's condition was listed as
"very critical". He was put on life support and was breathing
approximately 10% on his own. Doctors gave him a 10% chance of survival.
Chris underwent brain surgery Monday night. The part of the bullet that
was lodged between his eyes was removed. After the surgery, he was upgraded
to a 50/50 chance and he is now breathing on his own about 30%. Chris' vital
signs are strong. Although he is heavily sedated, Chris is showing motion
in his hands and feet. He is responding to voices by way of movement. While
Chuck Trickle was speaking to him, Chris squeezed his hand.
The family thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers, but has asked
that flowers and cards not be sent. Instead donations can be made to the
Chris Trickle Foundation, at Bank of America, account
