On Sunday, February 9 at about 10:00 pm, Chris Trickle was on his way to play tennis when he was shot in the head. He lost control of his car and went off the road. There is no evidence as to whether or not it was a random shooting. Police are still looking for anyone who has any information.

With the bullet lodged in his brain, Chris's condition was listed as "very critical". He was put on life support and was breathing approximately 10% on his own. Doctors gave him a 10% chance of survival.

Chris underwent brain surgery Monday night. The part of the bullet that was lodged between his eyes was removed. After the surgery, he was upgraded to a 50/50 chance and he is now breathing on his own about 30%. Chris' vital signs are strong. Although he is heavily sedated, Chris is showing motion in his hands and feet. He is responding to voices by way of movement. While Chuck Trickle was speaking to him, Chris squeezed his hand.

The family thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers, but has asked that flowers and cards not be sent. Instead donations can be made to the Chris Trickle Foundation, at Bank of America, account 160-372-299. This account has been se up to help children and young adults who are victims of violent crimes. Information as of Wednesday, Feb. 12, 1997

Chris is resting after undergoing another surgery Tuesday night. The rest of the bullet was removed from the rear of his brain. He is still in critical condition, however he is doing quite well. The swelling has gone down considerably, and Chris is still trying very hard to breathe on his own. In fact, doctors had to turn down the amount of oxygen Chris receives because he is trying so hard. Also, he moved his head late Tuesday night. We do know that the optic nerve has not been severed as was the thought earlier, so Chris has a very good chance of having full sight back. There was talk of Chris being paralyzed on his left side. As of right now that is unknown because he is so sedated.

Police are still searching for any clues that can help find the person that shot Chris. If you have any information PLEASE contact Secret Witness immediately.
